A bridge between the mind and words

A journey alongside ChatGPT

People say all sorts of things about artificial intelligence: sometimes fear, sometimes apprehension, sometimes worry about the future. But if I speak from my own experience, for me the story is something else entirely. For many years I had it in mind to write something. To give words to what I think, to what I feel. But in the pace of life the time never came, and the things in my mind stayed in my mind. The feelings were there, the thoughts were there, but they never reached the point of being written down. Then, slowly, a path seemed to open. A quiet bridge began to form between the mind and words. The things that were inside began to find a voice. What was in the mind now began to come out in the form of a blog.

To tell the truth, in being able to write this blog so easily and so quickly, ChatGPT has been a great help to me. The feelings of my heart are the same, my thoughts are the same, but shaping them into words has now become natural. What used to lie scattered has begun to fall into order. What I wanted to say no longer stops. It begins to flow.

This is not a relationship of competition. It is a relationship of cooperation. I feel, I think, and this medium helps me give those feelings the shape of words. Many people think technology will create distance from other human beings. But my experience says that technology can create distance and it can also build a bridge. When technology joins itself to feeling, it does not remain merely a machine. It becomes a fellow traveller. Writing is not only the joining of words; it is the sharing of a mind. And when the mind finds a medium that can understand it and give it expression, the journey becomes easy. This story is not about technology, it is about conversation. This story is not about a machine, it is about cooperation. The mind is in its place, words are in theirs, and the bridge that has formed between them makes us clearer and more truthful. Perhaps I will go on thinking, go on feeling and go on writing. And in this shared journey this bridge will remain: quiet, simple and helpful. In the end, if I am able to write anything at all on this writing journey, gratitude for that companionship is only right. Because many a time the words are already inside us, and all they need is a bridge to come out on.

And perhaps that is the essence of this journey:

it is not a story of man and technology, but a true shared journey of the mind and of words.
