Introduction
Published in 1911, this historical book gives a detailed account of the indigenous cattle breeds of Rajputana as it then was. It covers the identification, physical traits, measurements, uses and breeding tracts of the regional breeds, including the Nagauri, Rath, Mewati, Bagri and Rinda. It also records the local conditions of cattle keeping, pasture, fodder, breed improvement and breeding of the time, with photographs and plates. It is an important primary source for the study of Rajputana's cattle and its traditional system of animal husbandry.
